The piece was inspired by the artist Chuck Close. The image incorporates their father’s vintage glasses and a 80’s vintage dress. These elements served as a meaningful representation to the past and present and helped to highlight quirky personality of the subject.
The surface was divided into 1200 1″x1″ squares with each being drawn individually until the entire image as revealed. The entire process took over 60 hours over a series of months.
