This was originally created in high school for a black history month art contest. This was my first attempt at making a poster and the largest realistic drawing I had done at that time.
It was lost to an art gallery owner for about 4 years until it was safely returned one random day. The original piece was all black and white but I added the red to the marquee after getting it back to help mark the significance of it’s return.
I also just wanted to a add a pop of color.
